Vital Ease — home modification and maintenance solutions

A fire in any room, relayed to your bedside.

The Bellman Smoke Transmitter (model BE1289) is a photoelectric smoke alarm that sends its alert straight to your Bellman Visit receiver — so smoke in the kitchen or the lounge wakes you in the bedroom.

Cover every room, not just the bedroom.

A smoke alarm pack protects the room it is in. But fires often start somewhere else — a kitchen, a lounge heater, a laundry — and the alarm there has to reach the person asleep at the other end of the house.

This transmitter is that extra alarm. It detects smoke and smouldering fires early and relays the alert to your Visit receiver, so the flash, sound, or bed shaker goes off wherever you are.

Questions

What people ask aboutbellman smoke transmitter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Bellman receiver to use the smoke transmitter?
Yes. The transmitter sends its alert to a Bellman Visit receiver — a flash receiver, an alarm clock receiver, or a portable receiver. If you do not have one yet, the smoke alarm pack or the safe package includes a receiver and a smoke alarm together.
How many Bellman smoke transmitters can be linked together?
Bellman states up to 40 devices can be interconnected, which covers even a large, multi-level home. Most houses need one in each bedroom area, the living areas, and the hallways, and we work out the positions with you on the visit.
What is a photoelectric smoke alarm?
It detects smoke by light scattering inside the alarm, which makes it good at picking up slow, smouldering fires early. Photoelectric alarms are the type safety authorities recommend for homes, and this transmitter is one.
Where should the smoke transmitter go?
On the ceiling, in the rooms and hallways where a fire is likely to start or spread, and never in a spot that gets steam or cooking fumes every day. We position each one on the visit so it covers the home without constant false alarms.
