Two ways people arriveat this page.
The first is with an assessment already in hand. An occupational therapist has been to the house, written a recommendation, and there is no funding body involved — the family is simply paying for it. Send the report through and we quote against it exactly as we would for a funded job.
The second is with nothing. Something has happened, or nearly happened, and somebody has decided the house needs to change. There is no therapist, no report, and no clear idea of what the work should even be.
That second group is welcome here and gets more of our time, not less. Ring us or send an email describing the problem — the step that has become hard, the shower that is being avoided — and we will talk it through, tell you honestly whether an occupational therapy assessment would be worth arranging first, and quote what we can quote.
What to send fora quote.
The more of this that arrives together, the fewer rounds of email between you and a price.
The client’s details
Name, the address the work is at, and a contact number. If the person who rings is not the person who lives there, tell us who will be home.
What the problem is
In plain words, if there is no report. "She cannot get over the back step any more" tells us more than a request for a ramp does, because it lets us suggest the right answer rather than price the one you had in mind.
The scope of works, if you have one
Any occupational therapy report, specification, or proposed plan, with material choices if they have been decided.
Photographs
The single most useful thing you can send. See below for what makes a photograph useful, because it is not obvious and it is the reason most quote requests come back with questions.

How to photographa job properly.
For a bathroom, take one photograph of each wall — all four, even the boring one — and then one of the plumbing point, which is on the external wall outside the bathroom. That last photograph is the one nobody sends and the one that decides whether a shower can be moved.
For a step, a ramp, or a platform, stand back. Four or five metres, so we can see the fall of the ground, the path, the gate, and what is on either side. A close photograph of a threshold tells us the height and nothing else, and the surroundings are usually what determine whether the gradient can be achieved at all.
For a rail, photograph the whole wall rather than the spot, and tell us what the wall is made of if you know. Include something for scale where you can — a tape measure in the frame is ideal, a person is fine.

Request a quote
Send the details, the scope if you have one, and the photographs. If there is no therapist involved we will talk it through with you first.
Quote and payment terms
You receive a written quote. Payment methods, and any site visit fee where an attendance is needed to quote major work, are confirmed with the quote rather than assumed.
Works are scheduled with the client
Stock items are usually one visit. Custom items need two — a measure, where design, position, and finish are confirmed on site, and then the installation.
Items are manufactured
Custom items are made to the measured dimensions rather than to a standard size, which is what an awkward threshold or an uneven landing usually needs.
Installation
The work goes in, and the client is shown how to use it before we leave — with a family member or carer present where they want that.
Works are completed
Where an occupational therapist is involved they are notified by email with photographs of the finished work. Where the final work has varied from what was quoted, the adjustment is settled with the client rather than absorbed quietly either way.
