Can you change just the handle on my garden tap?
Usually, yes. The lever replaces the top part of the tap that is already in the wall, so nothing is dug up and no brickwork is disturbed. If an old tap has seized or rusted through, we replace the whole tap. Send us a photo and we will tell you which you need.
Where can a hose reel be fixed?
Anywhere solid enough to take the pull of the hose, like brick or a sturdy post. Weatherboard and some other walls need extra support, which we sort out on the visit. We fix it low enough for you to reach easily.
Is a retracting reel worth it over a normal one?
Yes, for safety. The danger is a hose left on the path. A hand-wound reel only gets wound when you have the strength, and with sore hands that is often not. A self-winding reel puts the hose away every time.
Can this be done in a rental?
Changing the tap handle damages nothing, so it is usually easy to get agreed. A hose reel is screwed to a wall or post, so it needs the owner’s or the agent’s permission first.
Will the NDIS or my Home Care Package fund garden taps?
Sometimes. A lever tap is a minor home modification, usually approved like the indoor ones. A hose reel is often seen as a convenience. It depends on your plan, and on whether your OT links it to a falls risk.
