Most bathrooms are served by a standard grab rail in a standard place. Some are not — a window where the rail should go, a shower recess that is not square, a toilet set too close to a wall, or someone who transfers in a way the usual position does not support.
A modular system is built from sections and joiners rather than made as one piece, so the run can turn a corner, change plane, or stop short of an obstacle without a custom fabrication.
The point is not the product. It is that the rail ends up where the person actually reaches, which is decided by watching them use the room rather than by measuring off a standard.

A horizontal section to push up from and a vertical section to pull up on, which is the pair most people actually use.
Straight runs
Along a wall, beside a bath, or down a hallway. Longer than a standard rail where the support has to be continuous.
T and U shapes, in the shower
Support at the entry, at the seat, and under the rose — three positions that a single straight rail cannot cover.
Floor-to-ceiling poles
Where there is no wall in reach. Beside a bed or a chair, in the middle of a room.
Angled sections
Following the line someone actually stands up along, rather than the line the tiles were set to.

Fitted at rail strength so the thing nearest to hand is the thing that holds. People grab towel rails; most towel rails are not fixed to take it.

A rail is only as good as what it is bolted to. Tiles over plasterboard will not hold a fall, and that is exactly the load a bathroom rail has to take. We find the studs or install noggings before the rail goes up, and where a wall genuinely cannot carry a rail we say so and offer the floor-to-ceiling option instead.
Heights and positions are set against the person who will use them, and marked on the wall before anything is drilled so you can see where it will sit.

It is fixed work, and it means drilling
Rails are bolted into the structure of the building — a wall, a floor, or a footing. There is no adhesive or suction version that will hold a person’s weight in a fall.
If you rent, ask first
You will need the owner’s or the agent’s permission before we can start. Ring us and we will tell you what they usually want to see — most say yes once they know what is involved.
Manufacture and preparation
Studs, noggings, brick, or a set footing. Where a wall genuinely cannot carry a rail we say so on the visit rather than after it is installed.

Carried out by licensed tradespeople, as with everything else we do.

A licensed member of the team watches how the room is used and marks up positions. There is no charge for the visit.
A fixed price in writing
Set out so a plan manager, case manager, or occupational therapist can approve it without coming back to us for more detail.
We check what the wall will take
Studs found, noggings added where needed. This is the step that decides whether a rail holds.
Installation
Most bathroom rail work is finished in a morning, and the room is usable the same day.
Warranty
The work is carried out by licensed tradespeople and backed by the relevant warranties. If something is not right, ring the same number you rang the first time.

If a standard railwill do the job.
Most bathrooms do not need a modular system. A straight rail, an inverted-T in the shower, or a stabiliser beside the toilet covers the majority of homes, and it is quicker and cheaper to fit.
We fit both, and we will tell you on the visit which one your room actually needs.
