Vital Ease — home modification and maintenance solutions

Home modification supportfor occupational therapists.

We build to your specification, call you if something won’t work in that house, and hand back a job your client can use. Across Victoria and New South Wales.

What you prescribe iswhat gets installed.

The complaint OTs make about builders is nearly always the same. The scope said 900mm, the rail went in at 850mm, and nobody rang to ask first.

Our tradespeople read and follow an OT specification, and treat its numbers as clinical decisions.

Work meets AS 1428.1 and the National Construction Code.

What we bringto your caseload.

  • Scope templates and checklists

Quote request examples and on-site checklists, so the first quote back is the right one.

  • An in-house draftsperson

For major work that needs drawings before it can be quoted or approved, we measure, design, and document it.

  • Trades who follow a specification

A rail goes where you specified it, at the height you specified.

  • Made to measure

Steps, ramps, and rails made to the house, not picked from standard sizes.

  • Assistive technology

Stove timers, bidets, key safes, and alerting systems, fitted by licensed trades.

  • One point of contact

You hear when the quote goes out, when it is approved, when it is booked, and when it is done.

Writing a scope thatquotes cleanly.

Most delay between assessment and installation is back and forth about what was meant. Almost all of it is avoidable when the request is written.

The list is short, and photos matter most. The questions below set out exactly what we need.

If drawings or measurements don’t exist yet, our draftsperson can produce them. It is usually faster than another round of emails.

How we workwith you.

  1. Your scope arrives

With the client’s details, funding, specification, and photos. If anything is missing, we come back to you, not the client.

  2. We quote to your recommendation

Written to your specification, in a form the funding body can approve. Any concern is raised now.

  3. Approval, then booking

Once the quote is approved, we book a time directly with the client. Most jobs take one visit. Anything made to measure takes two visits. The first is to measure and the second is to fit.

  4. Installed by the right trade

Each job goes to a tradesperson qualified for that kind of work, and licensed where the work requires it.

  5. Completion and sign-off

You get photos of the finished work, and any certificate of completion to sign. Work is backed by the relevant warranties.

Hospital dischargesand urgent referrals.

  • Tell us the discharge date up front

Give us the date when you first enquire. We will tell you straight away whether we can meet it.

  • Items in stock are quicker

Items we keep in stock can be fitted sooner than anything made to measure. If the date is close, ask us what can be in place before your client goes home.

Training and CPD pointsfor occupational therapists.

We run training sessions for OTs across Victoria and New South Wales. They are built around the questions that come up when you write a scope.

A session covers the products we fit, how they are installed, what the standards require, and real jobs we have done.

We can come to your team or run it online, and shape each session around the work you refer. The time can count towards your CPD.

Questions

What occupationaltherapists ask us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you run CPD training for occupational therapists?
Yes. Sessions cover home modification products, installation, compliance, and real case studies. They can be in person or online, tailored to your team, and the time can count towards your CPD. Get in touch to book one.
What should a scope of works include for an accurate quote?
The client’s name, address, and contact details, the funding body and how the plan is managed, your specification, and photos. For a bathroom, one photo of each wall plus the plumbing point outside. For a step or ramp, one taken several metres back so the ground is visible, not only the threshold.
Do you attend site to measure before quoting?
For major work, yes, and for anything structural it is the sensible course. For minor work we usually quote from your specification and photos, then measure at the first visit. If a minor job is unusual enough that photos won’t settle it, tell us and we will come out.
What happens if my specification will not work in that house?
You hear from us before anything is built. A stud in the wrong place or a slope that won’t take your gradient means a phone call, not a quiet change. Scope changes come to you for approval, and price changes go to the funding body.
